A sudden and complete obstruction of blood flow to a part of the heart muscle is a heart attack, and is usually caused by plaque breaking off, blocking the flow of blood. Studies show endurance athletes may have more plaque than non-exercises but are less likely to suffer a heart attack. What does that mean in terms of exercise and heart disease? Watch this video now to find out.

In North America, 40 percent of deaths are caused by heart disease.
A heart attack is caused by a sudden and complete obstruction of the blood flow to a part of the heart muscle.
The sudden obstruction is usually caused by plaque breaking off blocking the flow of blood causing that part of the heart muscle to die, which is called a heart attack.
And by the way, stick with me thru this video to the end, and I’ll direct you to a source for other great articles about health related topics.
Two recent studies revealed how exercise helps to prevent heart attacks.
The studies showed that competitive older endurance athletes may have more plaques in their arteries than non-exercisers, but they have the type of plaques that are far less likely to break off and cause heart attacks.
To help prevent or reduce plaque formation:
Eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and restrict red meat, processed meats, sugar-added foods, all sugared drinks and fried foods.
Avoid being overweight.
Do not smoke.
Limit or avoid alcohol.
Exercise every day for at least a half hour a day.
