Modest Lifestyle Changes in Middle Age May Significantly Extend Your Life
Hi! I’m Dr William Norlin. I’m your Mpls/St. Paul Chiropractor and your source of everything health. I found a great piece about how healthy lifestyle changes in your middle-age can lower your chance of cardiovascular disease and mortality. If you have any questions about this information, or anything else that is a health goal or challenge, feel free to me a call at 612 724-4647.
Researchers found that a modest transition in mid-life ( late 40s to early 60s) to a healthy lifestyle that includes a minimum of 5 daily servings of fruits and vegetables, maintaining a healthy weight, exercise, and not smoking results in a substantial reduction in mortality over the next 4 years.
And by the way, stick with me thru this video to the end, and I’ll direct you to a source for other great articles about health related topics.
Hundreds of thousands of North Americans drop dead without warning every year and sudden cardiac death accounts for more than half of all heart disease deaths. Sudden cardiac death, particularly among women, is often the first and last sign of heart disease.
Women who don’t smoke, walk a half-hour a day, maintain a healthy weight, and eat a diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains, and beans had a 92% lower risk of sudden cardiac death.
I guess it is never too late to turn your health and life around. So what are you waiting for?
